It is Bernice´s anniversary of her death today, and she would be damn proud to hear that the Twenty Melbourne Painters are still going strong! She was one of the founding members in 1918, and a great women and artist too! At the moment they celebrate 100 years of the society with an exhibition, and I´m happy to be invited, although I can´t join, but I will come for sure!

Heute Abend spielt Regenbogen 2 dieses komplette 5. Studioalbum von R.E.M. aus dem Jahr 1987. Und zwar bei der Sendung Meilensteine der Rockgeschichte um 20 Uhr! Obendrein gibt es noch Geschichten zu den jeweiligen Songs, darunter einer meiner Lieblingslieder: It´s the end of the world as we know it ( and I feel fine ). Und da so etwas kaum bis überhaupt nicht in einem kommerziellen Radioprogramm vor kommt, finde ich es toll das es das hier so gibt! An dieser Stelle möchte ich dann noch meinen absolut unübertroffenen Radiosender – Phantom 105.2 – aus Dublin erwähnen der leider im Oktober 2016 vom Äther ging, den hier waren solche Aktionen keine Seltenheit! 

Document war eines der ersten Alben die ich mir in jungen Jahren zulegte und von da an war es um mich geschehen und ich einer ihrer grössten Fans!! Ich erinnere mich noch an den R.E.M. Tag auf MTV, wo nur ihre Sachen liefen! Zu dieser Zeit waren sie noch richtig gut, cool, unbeeinflusst..! Die Stimme von Michael Stipe ist natürlich sowieso unverwechselbar, und das bis heute! Nun gibt es Rapid Eye Movement ja nicht mehr aber diese Musik und dieses Album ist wahrlich ein Meilenstein der Rockgeschichte, oh ja!
