Oh, they are back!

Irgendwann, bald. Come on, please………………

Powers is the band’s strongest effort since its debut. Turning nervous energy into loud, paranoid tantrums of sound, The Futureheads are both on their way and truly back. RIFF magazine

This was filmed less than two months after “Chronic Town” was released on I.R.S. and it’s an outstanding document. It is also the earliest known professionally show footage of an R.E.M. show. Filmed 10th October 1982.

Is this a autism poem?!

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
I always had a special connection with this poem, because there is so much of me in his words, so true and so sad, sadness is a constant shadow, I think he felt this his whole live! Do I feel this my whole live? No matter if it has something to do with autism or not. A glorification of that is far from me and for sure not my intention! It is just a search. But definitely I feel in his words, his deep-seated (call it whatever) grief!

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Words by William Butler Yeats
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
I had this thought a while ago,
‘My darling cannot understand
What I have done, or what would do
In this blind bitter land.
‘And I grew weary of the sun
Until my thoughts cleared up again,
Remembering that the best I have done
Was done to make it plain;
That every year I have cried,
‘At length
My darling understands it all,
Because I have come into my strength,
And words obey my call’;
That had she done so who can say
What would have shaken from the sieve?
I might have thrown poor words away
And been content to live.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
And what lasts forever???
Such a masterpiece, which couldn´t be possible without his experiences and this grief…………………………………………………………………………………………………….?!

Traveling back to the roots!

Currently I'm listening again to the very early songs by R.E.M. ! I remember, that they were certainly the ones with the most influence. And which where I discovered my penchant for music. And music was and always will be an important factor in my life.

I was a R.E.M. Fanclub member for many years! But the I.R.S. years were certainly their best.
